Operations research is going to be one. There are many things that you may find in OR. All engineers and technicians and management men use OR for improving their effectiveness.
The main objective of using OR is to run the practical problem at hand in a most effective way. The one good thing is that you can develop your own models in Operations research. For that to happen you must be good in proper reasoning and be familiar with the problem. OR is only for operations. This is wrong.
OR can be highly helpful in solving day to day management problems. Remember OR is a military subject so it most often talks about resource and time and cost and efficiency etc. I would recommend that for people who know their math well to make their own OR methods and solve day to day operations problem.
