Drug mafia

After my 100th Blog I have planned to incorporate something useful and interesting for all those you read it. Recently, I saw a documentary by NGC which was about Escobar, a Columbian drug mafia. It was startling after hearing someone doing something like this.

Columbia is the country where this great mafia was brought up. Columbia 80% of the world wide drug deal. US, where the problem is critical, spends about 170$ million every year to hunt the drug dealers and manufacturers. The whole operation is highly organized but it looks as if they were unorganized as people from different places were involved. Columbia still holds about 75% of the drug dealership across the world, even after the death of Escobar.

Till now 20,000 people were dead per year. Escobar, the 7th richest man in the world at those times show how power corrupts. He lived in a palatial house which had more than 3000 hectares of land space. It is luxurious apartment where it had private zoo. He used to bring friends and relatives regularly to have good time with him.

The reason Escobar was powerful is that he was the 'Robin Hood' for the needy and poor. He built stadiums and schools for the people he not even knew well. Every body there labelled him as the hero and the mesiah of the poor.

The reason he was wanted is that he killed at will and did not have any conscience as to what he was doing, digging his own grave. There were 400 police men that he killed, ample amount of politicians and judges. During the beginning of the 1990s the President of Columbia asked him to surrender, and negotiate an agreement with them, instead of he being killed in the battle. Escobar agreed. But he demanded that he would need a palatial prison. His terms were agreed. This time he made a grave mistake of killing one of his fellow men after they tried to deceive him. This time the President said that he cannot protect him.

This time the President took the help of US. US sent their sophisticated equipments to trace him. Columbian soldiers were trying to track him near the palatial prison. The aerial surveillance team could detect his presence within 100 m but still it was difficult to find him because thousands of people lived in those regions. However, they had to catch him at any cost and this was what the higher authorities had decided. So they sent a US Delta Team, the best in the country, to do the job.

His family knew this that he was walking on a dangerous path. At last he was killed. But he was a mesiah for the poor. During his death there were thousands of crowd who placed homage to him.
